In today's world where science and technology constantly change our lives, qualities expected from individuals have also been changing rapidly. Countries need creative individuals who observe the world with a critical point of view, use the information they learn in their everyday lives, and stand up in this world of competition. In order to educate individuals with these qualities, countries constantly make changes in their education programs, curriculums, and address new approaches to education. One of these new approaches is STEM education which emerged in 2001 with a very old history of development. STEM is an abbreviation of the words Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This congress was firstly organized in Muş Alparslan University, Muş/Turkey on 3-5 May 2018.
The purpose of the congress is to emphasize on the topics "Enhancing the understanding of STEM education all across the country", "Raising the awareness of teachers and academicians about STEM", "Learning how to integrate the curriculum of STEM education" and "The importance of STEM education for our country". All of the STEM fields and educational sciences were included as subjects in this congress. Because STEM education is not only a field of study within the education faculty, it is an approach where all faculties are involved.
